This organization provides career planning and counseling services, as well as training programs and job search resources.

The EAC Network provides vocational services to individuals challenged with substance abuse who receive services from drug treatment services in Nassau County.

EAC Network's Mission Employment program helps at-risk youth ages 18-24 who reside in the Town of Hempstead or City of Long Beach on the path toward employment.

 

 

Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County FAMILY DEVELOPMENT CENTERS EOC of Nassau runs 6 family development centers. These centers provide employment services, including a job bank, help with resume writing, job referrals and job placement.

 Participants in the clothing program can join meetings  held once a week for two hours that include a presentation on a job search topic by a professional speaker, an opportunity to network with fellow members, and one-on-one job search support in the Career Center. Based in Brookhaven.

 

Mature Worker's ProgramSenior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) | Office for the Aging A subsidized service-based training program available to individuals aged 55 and older. Our services extend to Long Island and Queens, offering the support and resources needed to redefine career paths and find meaningful employment.

Suffolk County runs a one-stop employment center to help provide people with the tools they need during their job search. This center runs programs that specifically help youth, former homemakers, and criminally involved individuals.

The Suffolk Works Employment Program (SWEP) assists individuals and families that qualify for TANF, SNAP, and safety net assistance prepare for and find employment.

New Ground Inc. (Nassau & Suffolk welcome)The Workshops Service Program - New Ground (Education Assistance and Advocacy also Available)The Workshops Service Program at New Ground Inc.

New Ground coordinates workshops on critical topics to help struggling homeless Veterans, families, youth and individuals. Workshops take place at multiple locations, including the Northport VA, the Department of Social Services, the New Ground office, and various Veteran, family, and youth shelters.  New Ground provides transportation, daycare and refreshments to eliminate any potential barriers to attendance.  Presentations are made by New Ground program staff as well as experts in specific fields.  Topics include:

  • All areas of financial literacy.

  • Professional skills including resume writing, conducting a successful job search, ways to prepare for the first days on the job, how to handle conflicts at work, and more.

  • Parenting skills for children of all ages.

  • Reviewing housing options, securing an apartment, preparing for a move, and assessing other housing needs.



Center for Transformative Change at the INN (Hempstead)

The WorkPlus program provides training and education to help low income adults enter or

The Flexible Employment Program (FEP) is a computer training program for adults with disabilities.
