Ouija boards, tarot cards, what does Gods word, the Bible say?

Updated: Dec 25, 2024

The view on tarot cards and Ouija boards as demonic varies among individuals and religious communities. Many Christians believe that these practices can invite negative spiritual influences and detract from faith in God. This perspective often stems from biblical warnings against divination and seeking guidance from sources other than God.

What does the Bible say?

1. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (NIV):

"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or engages in witchcraft, who interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or calls up the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord."

2. Leviticus 19:26 (NIV):

"Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. Do not practice divination or seek omens."

3. Isaiah 8:19-20 (NIV):

"When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn."

4. Galatians 5:19-21 (NIV):

"The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."

5. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 (NIV):

"Reject every kind of evil."

The Bible clear admonition against practices like tarot reading and Ouija boards, which view as forms of divination that can lead to spiritual deception or harm.

For example the tarot card suggestion of being someone from your life by writing a name on a piece of paper and put it in the freezer. It’s just outright demonic. If you have a problem with someone, the Bible says to pray for them and forgive them.

A prayer in Jesus name that will set you free:
