Forgiving Yourself Prayer in Jesus’ Name with Bible Verses and Bible Study

Prayer to Forgive Yourself in Jesus’ Name

Heavenly Father,

I come before You in the name of Jesus. I confess my sins and failures, and I thank You for Your mercy and grace (1 John 1:9). Lord Jesus, by Your sacrifice, You have forgiven all my sins; now help me to forgive myself. Erase my guilt and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I choose to forgive myself as You have forgiven me. Fill my heart with Your peace and restore my soul (Philippians 3:13-14). I surrender all my pain and regrets into Your hands. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

Bible Study on Forgiveness

Objective: To understand the biblical perspective on forgiveness, including self-forgiveness, and to apply these principles to daily life.

Study Plan:

1. Start with Prayer: Begin each session by asking God for understanding and openness to His Word.

2. Read and Reflect:

- 1 John 1:9: Discuss how confession leads to cleansing and how it applies personally.

- Philippians 3:13-14: Reflect on letting go of the past. What does “pressing on” mean for you?

- Isaiah 53:4: Meditate on how Jesus took on our sorrows and how this helps in healing.

3. Group Discussion: Share experiences related to guilt and shame. Discuss how understanding God’s forgiveness can help alleviate those burdens.

4. Personal Application: Write down situations or choices that you struggle to forgive yourself for. Pray about each one and ask God to help you let go.

5. Practical Steps: Make a plan to practice forgiveness – this could include writing a letter to yourself, engaging in acts of kindness, or praying for those you may be holding onto bitterness against (Ephesians 4:32).

6. Wrap Up with Encouragement: Remind yourself and others that forgiveness is a process and that the freedom it brings is liberating. Encourage one another to seek God’s help in this journey.
