Important Tips for Managing Finances and Resources

1. Digital Payment Options:

- Consider setting up accounts with services like Chime, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Uber, or Zelle. If you don't have them, order one or two as soon as possible. These platforms can help others send you money easily. A mailing address will be required to receive a card.

2. Mail Forwarding:

- Ensure your mail is forwarded. If you don't have a mailing address, there are outreach organizations that can assist you. Contact us for a list of available resources.

3. Panhandling Techniques:

- When panhandling, avoid appearing threatening. Position yourself slightly away from cars at stoplights, and look away. This approach will make drivers feel safer opening their windows to give you money, increasing your chances of receiving help.

4. Storage Unit Advisories:

- Be aware that many individuals express regret over losing personal items in storage unit auctions, particularly family photos and important documents.

- Do NOT store family pictures or personal papers in storage units.

- Reconsider the need for a storage unit altogether. If you must use one, limit it to 90 days max and focus on relocating or selling your belongings:

-If they deny you sheriff is evicting you and you qualify for Dss emergency housing not only will they pay your housing they will also pay and move your stuff into storage.
