How do the homeless deal with getting sick.

The short answer is the most common answer, they do not get treatment when they are sick. They ignore it. They simply do not care.

Homeless individuals face unique challenges when it comes to accessing healthcare and managing illnesses. Here are some ways they may handle getting sick:

Seeking care at free clinics or hospitals: Many cities have free clinics or hospitals that provide medical care to the homeless. These facilities may offer a range of services, including primary care, mental health care, and substance abuse treatment.

Using emergency services: In some cases, homeless individuals may seek care at emergency departments for non-emergency medical issues. While this is not an ideal solution, it may be the only option for those who cannot access other forms of care.

Relying on over-the-counter medications: Homeless individuals may rely on over-the-counter medications to manage minor illnesses. However, this can be risky if they do not have access to healthcare professionals who can provide guidance on proper dosages and potential interactions with other medications.

Self-medicating with drugs or alcohol: Unfortunately, some homeless individuals may turn to drugs or alcohol to self-medicate their physical or mental health issues. This can lead to further health problems and exacerbate existing conditions.

Overall, the lack of access to consistent and quality healthcare can make it difficult for homeless individuals to manage their health and recover from illnesses. It is important for communities to work towards providing better access to healthcare for the homeless population.

Isaiah 58:7 ESV

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
