NO EBT ATM FEE! Learn what facilities that will not charge to withdraw cash from an ATM with your EBT card.

To access cash from your EBT card without being charged a fee in Suffolk County, New York, you can use ATMs that do not surcharge for withdrawals. Here are some steps to follow:


1. Find No-Fee ATMs: You have up to two free ATM withdrawals per month at ATMs that do not surcharge. You can call 1-800-289-6739 to find these locations near you [2] (https://otda.ny.gov/policy/directives/2008/inf/08-inf-11-attachment.pdf).


2. Free Balance Inquiries: Before making a withdrawal, check your cash benefit balance at an ATM

Here's a more detailed explanation:

  • In-Network ATMs:

    ATMs owned by your bank or within its partnered network (like Allpoint or MoneyPass) typically won't charge out-of-network fees. Use your bank's mobile app or website to locate in-network ATMs near you. 

  • Banks Waiving Fees:

    Some major banks, including Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, and Citibank, waive ATM fees for EBT cardholders, even if you're not a customer of those banks. 

  • Check with Your EBT Card Provider:

    Contact your EBT card provider (e.g., BenefitsCal) or local county office for information about surcharge-free ATMs in your area. 

  • MoneyPass mobile app:

    You can use the MoneyPass mobile app to find MoneyPass locations. 

  • BenefitsCal:

    You can also create or log in to your BenefitsCal account to view your program and case information. 

  • ATM Locations in Suffolk and Nassau Counties For MoneyPass and BenefitsCal

    To find specific locations in Suffolk and Nassau counties, you can enter the ZIP code for your desired area on the MoneyPass website to get a list of nearby ATMs. Ensure that any ATM you choose has the MoneyPass logo to avoid surcharges. Or you can do a search in google maps.

  • SNAP benefits:

    Remember that SNAP benefits may only be used to purchase eligible food items at authorized retail food stores, and cannot be used to withdraw cash from an.
